Dear Congressional Leader,
In August of 2012, the House unanimously approved a resolution urging the Obama administration to fight efforts to give a United Nations agency more control over the Internet. At that time, the Obama administration wisely announced its strong agreement with the resolution.
In 2012, Mary Bono Mack (R-CA), sponsor of the House resolution, had this to say:
"Today`s unanimous vote sends a clear and unmistakable message: the American people want to keep the Internet free from government control and prevent Russia, China and other nations from succeeding in giving the U.N. unprecedented power over Web content and infrastructure. We cannot let this happen."
Now in 2014, President Obama has made a complete reversal of his former policy regarding the U.N. and Internet control.
I urge you, my Congressional representative, to once again send a similar resolution to the President to prevent the U.N. from controlling the Internet.
