The Elephant of Jew Hatred
Caroline Glick

Townhall Magazine, April 20, 2012

Hatred of Jews is the central animating feature of the political and strategic reality of the Middle East. It is hatred of Jews that dictates the legal regimes, foreign policies, military aspirations, cultural mores, educational themes and even public health policies of our neighbors from Ramallah to Tehran.

Despite the centrality of Jew-hatred in all aspects of public life in the Arab and Muslim world, our neighbors' unrelenting and irrational abhorrence for Israel and the Jewish people remains a dirty secret that you aren't supposed to mention in polite company. From Washington to Brussels, talk of the policy implications of Arab and Muslim Jew-hatred is prohibited.

Omar Abu-Sneina, a convicted terrorist murderer, is one of the thousand Palestinian terrorists that Israel released from prison in order to secure the release of Israeli hostage IDF Sgt.- Maj. Gilad Schalit. Originally from Hebron, Abu-Sneina was released to Hamas-controlled Gaza.

This week the IDF announced that since his release Abu-Sneina has returned to the terror business. The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) intercepted a computer memory card he sent his family in Hebron with instructions for how his fellow terrorists should go about kidnapping and holding IDF soldiers hostage. The instructions demonstrate how for Abu-Sneina, Israelis don't even deserve to be treated like animals....

PM Netanyahu Comments on Egyptian Gas Issue
Prime Minister's Media Adviser

IMRA, April 23, 2012

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today (Monday), 23.4.12, at a meeting with Israel Bonds leaders made the following remarks about the issue of the supply of natural gas from Egypt:

"We don't see this cutoff of the gas as something that is born out of political developments. It's actually a business dispute between the Israeli company and the Egyptian company.

But alongside that I have to say that we have, as I said, the reserves of gas to make Israel totally energy independent, not only from Egypt but from any other source, and to have Israel become one of the world's large exporters of natural gas. So we're quite confident on that score."

Time for the U.S. to Stop Funding the Palestinian Authority
Arsen Ostrovsky

the algemeiner, April 20, 2012

The U.S. funding policy towards the Palestinians could best be described by Albert Einstein’s definition of insanity: “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

In the last five years, the U.S. government has poured at least $4 billion in aid to the Palestinians, with very little to show in return – except more terror and corruption.  Time has now long come to ask whether the U.S. should continue funding at all.

Last week, in a virtually unprecedented move, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton overruled a House Foreign Affairs Committee hold on $59 million in funding to the Palestinian Authority (PA), thus blatantly disregarding the integrity of Congress....

Suspected cyber attack hits Iran oil industry
REUTERS

The Jerusalem Post, April 23, 2012

DUBAI - Iran is investigating a suspected cyber attack on its main oil export terminal and on the Oil Ministry itself, Iranian industry sources said on Monday.

A virus was detected inside the control systems of Kharg Island, the country's largest crude oil export facility, but the terminal remained operational, a source at the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) said.

The virus, which is likely to be compared to the Stuxnet computer worm which reportedly affected Iranian nuclear facilities in 2009-10, struck late on Sunday....

Turkey Vetoes Israel for NATO Summit
Michael Rubin

Commentary Magazine, April 23, 2012

Western diplomats have confirmed to a Turkish newspaper that the Turkish government—led by Islamist Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan—has vetoed Israel’s participation in next month’s NATO summit in May. The move has not gone over well within NATO:

Turkey’s blockage against Israel was brought to the table during the NATO foreign ministers’ meeting in Brussels on April 18, the Daily News learned. Some ministers of the allied countries including the United States, France and Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen indirectly criticized Turkey for bringing its bilateral problems with Israel to the NATO platform. Some ministers went so far as to vow to veto the participation of Egypt, Mauritania, Algeria, Morocco and other partner countries in the activities of the Mediterranean Dialogue if Turkey continues to do so against Israel, something they called “a violation of NATO’s values.”

While President Obama has identified the virulently anti-Semitic Erdogan as one of his closest friends, the Turkish prime minister’s obsessions increasingly threaten U.S. national security interests. And while congressmen cultivated by Turkey point out that Turkey participates with NATO in Afghanistan, they neglect to mention that many Turks also fight for the enemy. Surrounded by sycophants and giddy with the success of his midnight raids on past and present opposition, Erdogan may believe he is riding high. What he is actually doing, however, is forcing Western states to question Turkey’s role in the treaty alliance.
